Actually, I'm MOVING next week! To the BIG CITY (well, not really a BIG city, by comparison to real big cities, but one with 200k+ people. So it's big enough.) 

My darling best friend and favorite person and I are moving in together. 

IT HAS A FIREPLACE GUYS. A REAL FIREPLACE. 

I'VE WANTED A FIREPLACE SINCE I WAS TWO. 

Anyway, I promise PROMISE I have 7 or 8 pages of the Red Prince ready to go, I just need to find time to scan them and clean them up a little digitally...which, due to my huge workweeks and the monumental task of moving looming ahead, may take a while. I thought about releasing one a day starting from my birthday (by the way, thank you so much for the birthday wishes! I felt so loved!!!!), but I couldn't get them set up in time. 

Phew.

To anyone who caught my last journal about the music performance...I didn't get a very good recording (the guy said he was recording it, but didn't use great equipment. :/)

Okay, on to the more exciting things.

I was promoted two weeks ago! I'm a supervisor at my work now, which means I get to boss people around (as if I wasn't doing that already, HAH.) It comes with a decent pay raise, and more hours, so I'll be making almost twice as much! Maybe I won't be able to categorize myself as a starving artist anymore, heh, heh...yeah. No. 

The sad part of this is that I haven't had a ton of time for drawing, or painting, so I might be a little scarce the next few weeks as I get used to my new schedule and workload. I will be taking my sketchbook to work though, just to keep the art withdrawal from killing me, and I'll probably be putting sketches up on my Facebook Page if they aren't completely horrendous. 



Thanks watchers for all that you are! You inspire me to keep creating, and fight back against the ever present "you suck at everything" shadow that most of us artists seem to have.

Guess what guess what guess what???

So as I've hinted at before, I'm a musician--a composer! I love composing music for my fantasy worlds, and have done so a ton when I'm not painting or...writing! Right! Writing these books that the paintings and music are from! Golly how could I forget--

Okay getting distracted. So I've written a few pieces for my best friend and I's series, Tales of the Fatherless. 

I've gotten to hear them performed live by my college orchestra before, which was an incredible, dream-realizing, humbling experience. I have many of these recordings (and fake-instrument mockups of the ones that were never played IRL) available on youtube. I'm content with this; I don't have super high dreams of composer stardom. 

BUT GUESS WHAT?
(really, i'm getting to the point.)

This week, the Sun Valley Summer Symphony youth workshop is taking place in Sun Valley, Idaho--and one of the directors of this workshop happens to be the conductor of the college orchestra I mentioned earlier. He recommended one of my pieces as part of the repertoire for this upcoming concert week! So yeah!

This Friday, I get to go up and hear my piece performed in a HUGE outdoor ampitheatre/concert hall!!!

Anyway, if you happen to be in Idaho (I know, right? As if.) This upcoming Friday, come by and see me and my darling BF! I'll be the redhead weeping for joy somewhere near the front, and she'll be---well, the other readhead, weeping even harder.
